Sereana Lindsey : Poet and Spoken Word for The Autopsy of a Loss
February 18, 2014
I have always been aware of how dichotomous life is, that beautiful cannot exist without ugly, and ugly becomes poignant because of beauty’s contrast.
I think that’s what drew me to creative expression, the desire to understand the relationship between dark and light. Nothing draws out these two elements more than love, which is one of the greatest joys humans can experience yet often torments us in the same breath. I use short story, poetry and illustration to further explore my fascination with the allure of revulsion and the healing energy in psychology and inherent in artistic pursuits.
