Patricia Van Asperen
I got a jump-start as an artist in grade eight when I was "kicked" out of instrumental music, and placed in an alternate class-"Art class for the musically inept", and I've been growing ever since! I have been working as an artist and graphic designer since 1993, and started running my own business as an artist in 2008.
Beginnings

Education and Work
Completed a BFA at Queen's University at Kingston, majoring in sculpture in 1990, then immediately following that I took a three year Graphic Design Course . After school I worked in an Art Department providing illustrations for a sportswear company and illustrations for educational children's book company. Over the years I have taken many courses to add to my sculpture skills, and to widen my understanding of techniques in using materials, such as welding, precious metal clay workshop, basic blacksmithing weekend course, a jewelry course, pottery and raku, and other courses that gave me a wider repetoire to draw from as a sculptor, if needed.
